Sport Update

Sydney North Tennis
Congratulations to Max Purcell who participated in the state tennis carnival last week up in Terrigal. The Sydney North team finished tied 2nd overall. Max performed extremely well and being only in grade 4 has two more opportunities to make the NSW Primary school team.

North Shore Zone Rugby Trials
Well done to Rodger Li who has been selected to represent the North Shore Zone in the Sydney North Rugby Trials. Rodger was selected from over 50 students who tried out on the day. Well done Rodger.

Zone Cross Country
CCPS zone cross country team will participate in the zone event Tuesday 20th May at Artarmon reserve. After weeks of hard practice several runners are expected to make it through to regional level.

PSSA Sport
The North Shore Zone PSSA competition began last Friday with all teams travelling off to play against other schools. The netball teams will always play at Willoughby leisure centre, AFL at Bailes Park Chatswood and Soccer play home and away with most of its games at Holly St oval. Please remember that PSSA practice is on each Wednesday and Friday morning from 8am, you can always check the CCPS sport site at www.ccpssport.blogspot.com. If you would a draw for the competition please see the office.

PSSA Results
In round 1 of PSSA competition Castle Cove recorded another first with all 3 netball teams winning.
Netball A – won 18-0
Netball B – Won 35-0
Netball C – won 14-4

Soccer A – Lost 1-0
Soccer B – Lost 2-0

AFL will start its competition next week with the first week being a practice and training day.

North Shore Netball
Well done to Maddie Spicer who has been selected into the north shore zone netball team to play in the Sydney North carnival later next month. Good luck Maddie.
